Messaging and Outreach Strategy for Non-Profit Historical Association
Founded in 1897, The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to fostering the appreciation, understanding and teaching of the rich and unique history of Texas for generations. Its publications include the iconic Texas Almanac, The Handbook of Texas and The Southwestern Historical Quarterly. The world’s most authoritative and reliable resource for content related to the history of Texas, TSHA’s website receives more than a million visitors from around the world each month, however, the venerable organization needed help elevating its profile and attracting new members and corporate contributions.
TSHA engaged The Monument Group to elevate the organization’s profile statewide, identify partnership opportunities, and encourage additional interest in its mission, events and publications. We have worked closely with the TSHA to announce its re-affiliation with the University of Texas at Austin, promote the publication of the 68th edition of the Texas Almanac, generate interest in and media coverage of projects related to African American and Tejano contributions to Texas History, and to highlight the participation of thousands of students in its annual Texas History Day competition. We continue to coordinate opportunities for the TSHA to engage with the media and to develop relationships with third party organizations to promote the TSHA’s important role in preserving and promoting Texas history.
